João Peixoto

Founder / Tour Guide
Born and raised in Viana do Castelo. A former professional cook that works currently as food photographer. His culinary explorations were firstly fueled by Anthony Bourdain’s shows. He cares about the people that honor local products and work for the preservation of our culinary heritage.

Mariana Parra & João Carmo

Chefs (Partner)
Passionate chefs working at the historical restaurant included in our Local Heritage Tour. Restless in the search for disappearing local recipes and the best product suppliers to prepare you a very special meal full of surprising flavor combinations.

Mr. Lomba

Fisherman (Friend)
Mr. Lomba is a local fisherman. He dedicates his mornings to keep a traditional fishing craft alive. You'll have the chance to watch him practice his art at our Local Heritage Tour while you learn about the details of local fishing methods and the fresh products the ocean brings daily.

Mr. Paulo

Fish and Seafood Commerce (partner)
Paulo has been a fish and seafood businessman for more than 20 years. He followed the footsteps of his father and recently opened a little seafood shop for the general public to buy and taste some of his premium products.

Dona Paula

Tasco owner (partner)
Dona Paula is the owner of a tradicional tasco located at the fishermen's community. She knows sea products by heart and prepares delicious petiscos from them. This is a local's place you'll have the chance to discover during our Local Heritage Tour.
